Family contact support/supervision

Familial support
“Axis Haven, we offer supervised contact services to ensure a child’s physical safety and emotional wellbeing during visits with their non-resident family member.”
Our trained Close Protection staff provide support during supervised contact, ensuring that interactions run smoothly and safely, free from incidents. This service is particularly important when there are concerns that a child may have suffered or is at risk of harm during contact with a non-resident family member. Referrals for our supervised contact services typically come from local authorities, child contact centers, courts, CAFCASS officers, or through self-referrals.
We take a sensitive, child-centered approach, focusing on the emotional wellbeing of both the child or young person and the family member. Our team prioritizes safety while fostering a calm, supportive environment. All of our staff have undergone enhanced DBS checks and adhere to our stringent ‘safer recruitment policies.’ They are also trained in a wide range of relevant skills, including MAYBO de-escalation techniques, medication awareness and safe handling, substance misuse, and First Aid.
Our supervisors are experts in key areas such as:
– Child criminal and sexual exploitation
– Serious youth violence
– County lines involvement
– Modern slavery
– Safeguarding children and young people under Child Protection Plans (CA 1989), including neglect, emotional, physical, and sexual abuse
– Child and youth mental health
– Domestic violence and abuse
– Drug, alcohol, or substance misuse
– Parental neglect
This expertise ensures that our staff can handle complex, high-risk cases while maintaining the child’s safety and emotional wellbeing as the highest priority.
