Caring for Every Child’s Future
Axis Haven operates multiple residential children’s homes, dedicated to providing full-time care, support, and accommodation for children and young people with a range of emotional and behavioural support needs. This includes those with mild to moderate learning disabilities, and young people who are neurodivergent. Each home provides accommodation for up to three children and young people, both boys and girls, aged 8 to 18.

A Safe Haven for Resilience and Growth
Many of the young people at Axis Haven have faced significant challenges, including frequent transitions, high-risk situations, or multiple placements. Our homes are thoughtfully designed to serve as a ‘safe base,’ offering stability and security that foster the development of trusting relationships with the professionals who support them. Through these relationships, our dedicated team helps young people navigate their emotions and strengthen their resilience and coping strategies essential for lifelong success. This support is grounded in a deep understanding of each child’s personal history, behaviour, and present experiences.
At Axis Haven, our staff receive ongoing, tailored training that addresses the unique needs of the young people in our care. This training is delivered through a variety of platforms to accommodate diverse learning styles. Young people benefit from a multi-agency approach aimed at continually enhancing knowledge, understanding, and skills—ensuring they are safe, socially engaged, and able to enjoy their childhood.
Establishing trusting relationships and creating a sense of safety are central to helping each child feel secure and settle into their new environment. Our team recognizes that this process requires time, patience, and resilience. By setting regular goals and reinforcing positive behavior through praise and rewards, we support children in developing essential life skills, fostering independence, and staying safe.
